The Arab International Commission for Reconstruction Adopts a Humanitarian Emergency Plan in Gaza.

The Arab International Commission for Reconstruction in Palestine held its Board of Directors meeting in the city of Istanbul, Türkiye, on 25–26 July 2025, with the participation of several board members, representatives of supporting institutions, and key figures active in the fields of relief and reconstruction.
This meeting comes amid the worsening humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip, where residents face severe famine and extensive destruction of infrastructure and housing—particularly in the areas of shelter and food security—with thousands of families living without safe shelter or sufficient food.
The meeting concluded with a set of key outcomes:
Governance, Transparency, and Equity
Participants emphasized the importance of applying governance principles across all Commission programs to ensure fairness in the distribution of resources and aid—such as water, tents, and temporary housing—and to guarantee their organized and equitable delivery on the ground.
The Director General presented a detailed report outlining compliance with standards of transparency and efficiency.
Field Reality in the Gaza Strip
Attendees reviewed field reports revealing the scale of the humanitarian catastrophe in the Strip and highlighting urgent needs for shelter and food, especially for women, children, and the elderly.
Adoption of a Humanitarian Emergency Plan
The participants approved a comprehensive plan to provide urgent solutions in the areas of shelter, food, and healthcare, ensuring equitable distribution and coordinated implementation with local partners, along with clear monitoring and oversight mechanisms.
Strengthening Relations with Partner Institutions
The meeting underscored the need to reinforce existing relations among organizations working in the humanitarian and relief sectors, unify efforts and initiatives, and avoid duplication—ensuring complementary roles that accelerate reconstruction and alleviate suffering in the Gaza Strip.
Call for Establishing an International Humanitarian Coalition
Participants reaffirmed the Commission’s call to establish an international humanitarian coalition dedicated to supporting reconstruction, lifting the blockade on Gaza, and mobilizing resources through governments, international organizations, and civil society.
Commitment to Sustaining Humanitarian Work
The meeting stressed the importance of continued support and the development of long-term phased plans for reconstruction, alongside sustainable development projects that complement emergency interventions.
At the conclusion of the meeting, participants reaffirmed the Commission’s commitment to continuing its work in Palestine—especially in the Gaza Strip—in accordance with the highest standards of justice and good governance, and called upon all parties to support this vital humanitarian effort during this critical time.
